About Owner And Lead Designer Tara:

Tara owner and designer for ReUp Fashion is a creative and contemporary designer who works across apparel and textile to bring ideas to life.  She began sewing, creating and dreaming in the 4th grade with the gift of a hand-me-down sewing machine. She went on to get a Bachelor of Science degree in Apparel Design and a minor in Fashion History and Culture. After college, she spent several years working in the fashion industry improving her knowledge of garment construction, sewing techniques, pattern making, fabric and fit as a freelance designer, trend forecaster, seamstress and stylist. She also spent years wrestling with the disconnect between our shopping habits and the truth about the production and disposal processes surrounding fast fashion… Que ReUp Fashion. Tara’s passion and enthusiasm for repurposing is contagious and she reminds us that what you purchase makes an impact!

Note From Tara:

I love fashion and I am a consumer of all things Clothing and Décor: I Take Inspiration from designers, influencers, bloggers ect. All from my phone. Social media today makes it so hard to not want to buy quick and easy, to have those beautiful things that everyone else has. But social media also hides the major impact that fast fashion industry puts on the environment. The “buy new and dispose of the used” fast fashion industry creates about 92 million tons of textile waste a year and about 4% of the world's co2 emissions. Approximately one garbage truck of discarded textiles each second is being burned or sent to landfills, THAT’S CRAZY! We need to do better!  And we know how to do better, repurpose, recycle, reuse! BUT I know what you’re thinking, thrift stores are not for everyone, and they don’t have those latest pieces, it also takes time, and nothing fits… It's easier to shop and buy a mass-produced item.

Reimagine it, ReUp Fashion makes it easy to be a conscientious consumer by providing Those on trend, affordable, ecofriendly clothing items, as well as a curated selection of thrifted and small batch accessories.  As a personal stylist and trend forecaster I source the best discarded textiles and accessories by digging through piles of clothing all over the U.S., It’s one of my favorite jobs! Then I sanitize it, reimagine it, disassemble it, and rebuild it into a one-of-a-kind, sustainable piece that give you the looks you want, and you will be proud to wear. ReUp your lifestyle!
